What is the Asia Pacific Orchid Conference?
The Asia Pacific Orchid Conference (APOC) is an international event held every three years, dedicated to disseminating common knowledge and recent trends in the development, hybridization, science, culture, and conservation of orchids. It brings together orchid enthusiasts, industry professionals, scientists, and horticulturists from the Asia-Pacific region and around the world. The conference typically includes conference, exhibitions, orchid competitions, and various cultural activities related to orchids. APOC plays a crucial role in promoting orchid conservation and building a global community of orchid enthusiasts.

History of APOC:
The Asia Pacific Orchid Conference was first held in Tokyo, Japan, in 1984. Since then, it has been held every three years, rotating among different cities in the Asia-Pacific region. Each host city brings its unique flavor to the event, reflecting local orchid species, cultivation practices, and cultural influences. Over the years, APOC has grown in size and scope, attracting a diverse range of participants and becoming a major event in the global orchid community.
APOC has facilitated collaboration and networking among orchid growers, researchers, and conservationists in the Asia-Pacific region. By providing a platform for sharing knowledge and experiences, APOC has helped to enhance the understanding and appreciation of orchids, promoting their conservation and sustainable use.
The objectives of the APOC Trust shall apply especially to countries in the Asia Pacific Region. To promote awareness and development of the hybridization, cultivation, science and conservation of orchids and to support research in these fields.
In pursuit of its objectives, the APOC Trust will invite and approve applications to host the Asia Pacific Orchid Conference (APOC) from suitable organizations, which Conference shall occur every three years or at intervals determined by the Trustees.
